The Islands of the Andaman Sea have been a haven for Sea Gypsies and traders of the Far east and India for Centuries. Trek through the Rainforest to experience views over Sri Phang Nga National Park and relax in the crystal waters of its plunge pool. Experience the mangrove channels and deserted beaches this area has to offer and experience the local villages that remain today. ….Nature and culture at its best!

Day 1:

Discover the rainforest of Phang Nga and surrounding Andaman islands and as you have never seen them before. Pick up from Hotels in Phuket and Khao Lak in air conditioned minivan and transfer to Sri Phang Nga National Park in the north of Phang Nga Province.

Waterfall Sri Phang Nga National ParkOn the way stop to relax and enjoy fresh brewed coffee before heading to the market to pick up some local desserts and fruit for our journey. From here we head to Sri Phang Nga National Park to experience the rainforest on one of their rainforest walks. Soaring dipterocarps, winding vines and strangler figs all compete for sunlight in this stunning rainforest walk. Pass waterfalls and through streams, understand a little more of the areas ecology and why it is so important we preserve Thailand’s rainforests for future generations. Experience the view point on top of one of the many mountains in Sri Phang Nga National Park, listen to the sounds of the rainforest. After exploring the wonders of the forest it is time to soak your muscles and relax at one of the most spectacular waterfalls in southern Thailand, swim in the crystal fresh waters of the waterfalls lagoon and take in nature at its best. Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch at the waterfall with seasonal fruits and local Thai delicacies. Feeling refreshed head onwards to check into your air-conditioned room. After a short break head onwards to see the sunset over the Andaman sea, talk of tomorrows adventures and a sundowner on one of the last deserted beaches in Thailand. Experience the beauty of a multicoloured Thai sunset before returning to the resort for dinner and overnight.

Day 2:

Take a leisurely breakfast before heading to the pier for Koh Phra Thong in the Andaman sea. The area is an ancient trade route with native ocean wandering sea gypsies calling it home for hundreds of years. Ancient traders from India and china also bartered and sold their wares here as long as 2000 years ago.

Koh Phra Thong IslandOn arrival to the pier board one of the local longtail boats. The longtail boat is traditionally used for fishing and is still one of the best ways to experience the mangrove channels surrounding Koh Phra Thong. From the boat you can enjoy the views over the surrounding islands with local fishermen returning from the mornings catch, if we are lucky we can spot fish eagles soaring overhead.

Arrive at Koh Phra Thong and head to one of the deserted beaches. Here you can relax or explore at your leisure, chat to the locals who come to collect coconuts at the edges of the beach, and soak up the experience of being on a deserted island. Head onwards to the main village on Koh Phra Thong and enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh local Thai cooking (sea food). After lunch there is time to relax and explore this small fishing community and maybe even check in on the local school. In the center of the island unique savannah grassland is home to wild dear and hornbill. There is even the rare bird, the Lesser Adjutant, only found in this and one other area of Thailand. After exploring the village re-board our longtail boat for the return journey through the maze of mangrove channels stretching the length of the coastline. On arrival to Kuraburi pier unfortunatly it is time to head back to your hotel. Here you will meet with our driver for the return, transfer to your hotel in either Khao Lak or Phuket.
